Nestlé has launched a new capsule coffee machine system, Nespresso Vertuo, also known as Nespresso VertuoLine.

Vertuo does not replace the other systems Nespresso Original And Nespresso Professional, which are still available to purchase.

Vertuo proposes a new line of coffee machines (Vertuo Plus made by Krups or De Longhi) and one new type of capsules of different sizes and rounded shapes. The patented Centrifusion technology allows Nespresso Vertuo to create a new way of making coffee. Five capsule formats are available and suitable for preparing different coffees: Espresso (40 ml), Double Espresso (80 ml), Gran Lungo (150 ml), Mug (230 ml) and Alto (414 ml). The Vertuo coffee machine, which uses centrifugal force, recognizes the barcode present on the capsule and adapts the delivery parameters: flow, water volume, temperature, infusion time, rotation speed. The coffee is not dispensed through water pressure but with a new process of extraction by rotation. The capsule rotates up to 7,000 revolutions per minute. The result is a coffee with a soft and velvety cream.
